Music can make or break your wedding celebration. It’s the heart and soul of a wedding reception and you and your guests will remember it for years to come! We know you want to hire a great band or talented DJ and that is a given. Finding one is a matter of searching websites and talking with friends and colleagues. We can also assist you by providing contacts with bands and DJ’s who we are familiar with and have performed here at Natural Gardens in the past. You do however, need to make a decision quickly, as top talent can get booked up to a year in advance. The music you choose will also set the tone of your wedding and they should follow your theme. The music should be a genre that best reflects your personalities and that of your guests. Do you like country, while the bride or the groom is a rock and roller! Be sure the band/dj you choose plays slow and fast songs, and old and new tunes to encourage all your guests to hit the dance floor.

DJs usually cost less, and prices are based on equipment requests and whether it’s a weekday or a weekend. A band, will generally be more expensive than a DJ, because there are more people to pay. Band prices vary by the number of musicians, the amount of time you want them to play for and how far they need to travel.

You will want to see a DJ or band in action or listen to some of their music or watch a performance online before you sign a contract.That way you can see how they dress and interact with the crowd. If that’s not a possibility, ask for a playlist, and look for songs you know and would want them to play. Ask for referrals from the last few weddings the band or DJ played.

45 Riots musicians have played to audiences in the tens of thousands at arenas like Madison Square Garden, at international festivals like the Montreal Jazz Festival and Rock in Rio, and regularly at esteemed local venues such as the Blue Note, Carnegie Hall, Dizzy’s at Lincoln Center, Jazz Standard, BB King’s, Highline Ballroom, City Winery, Le Poisson Rouge, Zinc Bar, Cafe Wha, Village Underground, Groove, Red Lion, Terra Blues, Billie’s Black, Bitter End, NuBlu, Rockwood Music Hall, and many more.

Our musicians have made television appearances on the Voice, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Late Show with David Letterman, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Today Show, Saturday Night Live, BET, the Grammy Awards, and the NFL Halftime Show, just to name a few.  45 Riots has been featured performing in segments aired on CBS, ABC, and NBC.

 

Our musicians have also assumed the role of musical director, producer, arranger, and composer, and several have been nominated for or won Grammy Awards.

45 Riots is adept at myriad musical idioms, be it current or classic, including R&B, funk, hip-hop, house, soul, Motown, pop, rock, indie-alterntive, reggae, Afro-Caribbean, jazz, blues, classical, and inspired mixes.
