Daylily - rp1

- Description
This vibrant daylily (Hemerocallis), displaying a stunning golden-yellow hue on huge flowers.
Here's a detailed description:
🌼 Flower Characteristics:
- Largest daylily flower!
The blossoms are large, trumpet-shaped, and composed of six petal-like tepals that flare outward.
The color is a bright golden yellow with slightly darker amber or burnt orange tinges near the edges and central midribs, especially noticeable on older blooms.
Each flower is short-lived (hence the name “daylily”) but the plant produces multiple buds on branched scapes, allowing for a prolonged blooming period.
Six prominent stamens with dark anthers surround the central pistil, all clearly visible in this close-up shot.
🌿 Foliage:
The foliage forms a grassy clump of long, arching, blade-like leaves.
Leaves are vibrant green, linear, and provide a lush backdrop to the bold flowers.
The plant structure is both tidy and ornamental, fitting well in mixed borders or as a standalone feature.
🌱 Growth Habit & Culture:
Height: Typically 18–36 inches, but this variety appears closer to the taller end.
Bloom time: Early to midsummer, with some reblooming depending on the variety.
Prefers full sun (at least 6 hours/day) for the best bloom performance, though it tolerates partial shade.
Thrives in well-drained soil and is quite drought-tolerant once established.
Low maintenance, hardy in USDA zones 3–9, and resistant to pests and diseases.
🌟 Landscape Use:
Ideal for mass plantings, foundation beds, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens.
Attracts bees and butterflies while resisting deer and rabbits.
